Luiz InácioLuladaSilva (born 27 October 1945) is a Brazilian politician and former trade union leader. He has been the 39th President of Brazil since 2023.
Lula led the organization of the party and ran for governor of São Paulo that same year. In August 1983, he helped found Brazil’s United Workers’ Center (Central Única dos Trabalhadores/CUT).
