Tom Sullivan (born March 27, 1947) is an American singer, actor, writer, and motivational speaker. Blind since infancy, he has been a public advocate for assistive services for the blind, and research into treatments for blindness. [1 ]
Sullivan the first civilian ever to host a "Change of Command" ceremony from one four-star General to the next at Fort McPherson in one of the military's most revered traditions.
Sullivan grew up in the Bronx, New York City. [1 ] He played collegiately at Fordham University and was a four-year letterwinner from 1968 to 1969 through 1971–72, [2 ] playing the center position.
Mary Sullivan was a doting mother who supported her only son Tommy throughout his professional boxing career. In Joseph Barboza's autobiography Barboza, Sullivan is wrongly identified as "Rocky", not "Tommy".
