Edward BennettColes (October 29, 1910 – June 18, 1970), known professionally as Eddie Cole, was an American jazz musician and brother to musicians Nat King Cole, Freddy Cole, and Ike Cole.
EdwardColes, Illinois’ second governor was born in Albemarle County, Virginia, on December 15, 1786. He obtained an education through private tutors and later at the Hampden-Sydney College and William and Mary College.
Coles also encouraged Madison to free his slaves in his will, but the former president did not. He married Sally Logan Roberts in 1833 and the couple had three children.
