Dennis L. Michel was appointed in 2023 by Governor Dunleavy. Regent Michel is a lifelong Alaskan, born and raised in Fairbanks, and is an accomplished businessman with years of experience and knowledge in the construction industry.
Denis played early in his career with the Roman Dixieland Jazz Band, and worked extensively with dixieland and swing musicians such as Don Byas, Dominique Chanson, Bill Coleman, Michel De Villers, Earl Hines, Stuff Smith, and Rex Stewart.
MichelDenis is emeritus senior research scientist at the French National Center for Scientific Research and a member of the Laboratory of Computer Science for Mechanics and Engineer Sciences (Limsi-CNRS) in Orsay (France).
